Race car rental: arrive and drive a Spec Racer Ford.
The best dollars per sMile.
You show up with your gear. We store the car, prep it, transport it and crew it, and we stand behind the wall with you all weekend. First track day or fiftieth race, the same people meet you at the trailer. If you are looking for a race car or a track day car to rent and have never heard of a Spec Racer Ford, this is the one we put you in, and it comes with everything around it.
From the driver's seat
What it is like to race one.
Thirty-odd identical cars, nose to tail, braking at the same marker and nobody with a bigger budget to hide behind. Every pass is earned. This is what a weekend in a Spec Racer Ford looks like from the grid.
What's included
What you get, and what you bring
One weekend, one car, everything around it. Nothing on this list is an add-on. A Spec Racer Ford arrive and drive weekend is this list, start to finish.
-
✓The car
A race-ready Spec Racer Ford Gen3, sealed and equal to every other car on the grid. Prepped before every event: alignment, nut and bolt, wash, driver fitment. More about the car
-
✓Transport
We get the car to the track and home again. You drive yourself to the track; the car is there when you arrive.
-
✓Trackside crew
Mechanical checks in the morning and after every session, tire pressures in pit lane, and mechanics in the paddock and on pit wall if something happens. Meet the crew
-
✓Data and video
Every rental car carries AiM data acquisition and a SmartyCam, so every session comes home as data and in-car video, reviewed in Race Studio 3. We have benchmark data for most tracks in most conditions, so even if you are at the track on your own you have a reference lap to measure against.
-
✓Radio
Every car has a hardwired digital radio with an IMSA-style helmet connector. Bring your helmet and earphones and you hear flag status, time left in the session and where you are on track, and you can talk to pit lane with any question you have. What we say and when is agreed with you before the session, not improvised during it.
-
✓Coaching
Session-specific goals before you go out. Video and data after every session, reviewed with you in plain language: the car, your driving, your race craft. You have access to Cliff, Mark and other qualified coaches; at track days and time trials, coaching is arranged in advance.
-
✓Fuel and tires
Estimated up front, settled on what you actually use. One session is one heat cycle, and you pay for the cycles you consume. Pick the tire that fits your budget and your goals: Toyo R888Rs last longer but lap slower, used Hoosiers are what most people run, and new Hoosiers are there when the result matters.
-
✓The awning
Shade and seats, and there are always snacks and water. When the schedule allows, we bring lunch. Your family and friends are welcome; we regularly bring ours too.
-
—You bring
Helmet with an IMSA-style radio kit and earphones, suit, gloves, shoes, arm restraints and a head-and-neck restraint, your travel, and your entry fee with the organizer. No arm restraints or head-and-neck restraint yet? We can provide them. What to buy, and in what order
What a weekend costs
A two-day track weekend runs around $4,500. Here is the one we would quote you.
Six lines, nothing hidden. This is the calculator's own arithmetic for two days at Barber, one of two cars in the trailer, four hours of track time over eight sessions, on scuffed tires.
| Line | Amount | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Transport | $314 | 196 round-trip miles, once per event |
| Prep | $600 | getting the car ready, aligned and fitted to you, once per event |
| Trackside support | $1,200 | two event days |
| Tires (estimated) | $348 | eight heat cycles on a scuffed set |
| Fuel (estimated) | $273 | 4 hours of track time |
| Car rental | $1,799 | 4 hours of track time |
| Total | $4,533.66 | tires and fuel settle on actuals |
Two-day track weekend · Barber · 8 sessions · 4 h on track
Transport and prep are charged once per event, not per day, which is why the second day costs less than the first. Race weekends are priced the same way, line by line: three days at Road Atlanta for the ARRC, four hours on track over eight sessions with two cars in the trailer, comes to $5,518.40 on scuffed tires and $6,372.52 on a new set.
Own your Spec Racer? Same crew, same lines, same rates; the car rental line drops out. The calculator has a switch for it.
Separate from the price: a $6,000 crash-damage deposit, paid before your first event and held while you race with us. It is security against damage you cause, not a limit on it. What a typical crash actually costs.
Fit
It probably fits you. Let us confirm it before you spend a dollar.
We have fitted a driver at 6'7" and 275 lb. Most "I am too big" worries come down to leg room or wheel clearance, and we solve those with an extended pedal rack, a smaller steering wheel and a seat insert molded to you. Send three numbers and a real person answers.

The day
What a test day actually looks like
Times are from a Chin Track Days weekend at Road Atlanta, advanced solo group. Test days at Polecat run more open track; race weekends add qualifying and the races. The loop is the same everywhere.
- The night before
The walkaround, if it is your first time in our car. Belts and seat, the start-up ritual, the sequential gearbox, what the dash is telling you, how we talk on the radio. You do it, we watch. Best done the evening before at the track; if that does not work, plan on a 6:45 arrival instead. It is all in the binder in the trailer if you want to read ahead.
- 7:00 to 7:30
You arrive. The car is off the trailer, checked and warmed through. You sign in with the organizer and sit in on the drivers' meeting. If we have already fitted you to the car at the shop, that is plenty of time; if not, see above.
- 9:00
Session one, twenty minutes. Out-lap to put temperature in the car, then laps. We are on the radio with flags and time remaining.
- After every session
Pressures, checks, video. Tire pressures in pit lane, a nut-and-bolt look at the car, then the video and data with a coach, in plain language. One thing to try next time out.
- Noon, 1:30, 3:00
Sessions two to four, same loop. Between sessions the awning is yours: shade, seats, snacks and water, your people.
- End of day
The car goes back on the trailer. You go home with the video, and we settle tires and fuel on what you actually used.
Who you'll see at the track
The same faces, every weekend.
You are not handed off between weekends. Cliff White, Todd White and the B2 crew are the people you meet, the people who prep your car, and the people on the radio when it counts, with Mark Eaton joining us on the big weekends. Nobody figures it out alone: grid procedure, flags, tire pressures, what the car is telling you. Questions are the point, not an interruption.
Booking

Sign up with B2
A short driver registration form, then the rental and support agreement by DocuSign. Nothing on paper.
Pay before the event
The rental and the $6,000 crash-damage deposit are paid before the weekend; we hold the deposit while you race with us and return it when you are done. ACH or check, no fee; a credit card carries a 3% convenience fee. Our cancellation policy is 14 days.
Race
Show up with your gear. We walk you through the car step by step, and the crew is with you all weekend.
Want to read ahead? Our Intro to the Spec Racer binder covers start-up, the gearbox, over-rev and the data. It is not a requirement, and we go through all of it with you at the track, but reading it protects you: it is how drivers avoid the mistakes that damage a car, and it shows you what a weekend looks like before you get there.
Questions
Three questions everyone asks
Do I need a racing license?
Not for a test day or a track day. Time trials need a Time Trials license, a quick online application with no racing school. Wheel-to-wheel racing needs an SCCA competition license or novice permit. The calendar marks every event.
What happens if I crash?
Damage you cause is yours to pay for. A mechanical failure that is not your fault is not, and the cases in between we work out with you, as a team. The $6,000 crash deposit is security against what you owe, not a limit on it. What a typical crash costs, with examples.
What do I bring?
Helmet, suit, gloves, shoes, arm restraints and a head-and-neck restraint, plus your entry with the organizer. We can provide the arm restraints and the head-and-neck restraint, and we bring the car and everything around it.
